TTS Voice Roster

Qevron's two local TTS engines — blab-pro (premium, 48 kHz) and blab-fast (fast, 44.1 kHz) — ship with a catalogued voice roster. This page lists it as-is: the id you see here is what goes into the voice field of a /v1/audio/speech request.

The API is the source of truth

These tables were rendered from live GET /v1/audio/voices output (snapshot: 2026-08-11). The roster can grow — fetch the list from the API in production rather than hard-coding this page.

How to use the voice field

voice is a voice id, not a language code. It is optional; leave it out and the engine uses its own default voice.

An unknown id silently falls back to the default

Passing a voice that is not in the roster does not raise an error — you get HTTP 200 and the engine's default voice. (Measured: sending sinan, a blab-pro voice, to blab-fast produced the same audio as a request with no voice at all.) Pick ids per engine and verify with GET /v1/audio/voices?model=<model> when in doubt.

The roster is engine-specific: blab-pro ids do not work on blab-fast and vice versa. Aliases share their target's roster — blab-stable → blab-fast; blab-expressive and blab-tts → blab-pro.

blab-pro roster — 47 voices

The built-in roster of the VoxCPM2 engine. 36 Turkish + 11 English; 24 female + 23 male; all three age bands (young / adult / mature) are represented.

The curated roster of the Supertonic v3 engine. 16 Turkish + 24 English; 20 female + 20 male. Every entry here has age: adult — so you cannot filter blab-fast by age.

† The engine currently returns Turkish text in description_en for eight blab-pro voices (ada, bade, duru, ela, nisan, sena, sinan, umut). Those rows are reproduced verbatim and marked; treat description_en as best-effort, not as a guaranteed translation.

categories is the array form of that value. It currently holds exactly one element on every voice and equals category — still, write code that tolerates more than one.

Tags

Every voice carries exactly five character tags, drawn from: authoritative, bright, calm, confident, conversational, crisp, deep, dramatic, energetic, friendly, gentle, gritty, intense, mature, narrative, playful, professional, quirky, raspy, resonant, smooth, soothing, warm, youthful.

deep, gritty and raspy appear only in the blab-pro roster.

Voices that are not in the roster

GET /v1/audio/voices returns more than the roster. The difference is two groups:

M1–F5 — generic engine defaults

The blab-fast listing also returns ids M1–M5 and F1–F5. These are Supertonic's generic default styles, not curated roster members: they carry no catalogue fields (gender, age, category, tags, description) and are deliberately excluded from the tables above. They work, but they should not be presented to end users as "the voice roster".

Tenant clones

Voices you clone yourself appear in the same listing and are visible only to your group. Their ids are prefixed with your group name (g<group>__<label>). Clone entries carry no catalogue fields — only id, label, builtin: false (plus status if the engine supplies it). To create one, see POST /v1/audio/voices.

Coverage caveats — read before you filter

Three live-measured facts to build against:

1. lang and lang_key have identical coverage. Both are populated on curated roster voices and absent on clones and M1–F5. "lang_key is always populated" is not true; a language filter built on lang_key drops exactly the same voices as one built on lang. The only difference is cosmetic: for uncatalogued blab-fast entries lang is sent as null, while lang_key is not sent at all.
2. Your language filter must handle "unknown". Do not discard a voice because lang is missing — that would hide the user's own clones from your UI.
3. Do not rely on status. blab-pro sends it on every record (91/91); blab-fast on only 10 of 60. Do not build a "ready" badge on it; when the field is absent, treat the voice as usable.
